Salty Girl Charters Florida LLC was founded in March 2022 by Mandie Cornwell. She has enjoyed exploring the gulf coast and sharing her experiences with family and friends, who have visited from out of state over the last 9 years.

Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, her love of sandy toes and salty water began as a young girl on the coast, where she spent summers at her grandparent’s home in Holden Beach. Beachcombing and crafting with the treasures found has always been a favorite family past time. 

Fast forward to adulthood, and Florida quickly became her own family’s preferred vacation destination.

During a trip to Madeira Beach on spring break in April 2014, she and her family officially fell in love with the gulf coast. A google search of “Where in Florida looks like the Bahamas?” lead to them Anclote Island, and the rest is history! They drew a line a mile inland, found a place to live, loaded up everything they owned and moved just two short months later!

In March 2018, Mandie’s husband passed away unexpectedly. Instead of hanging up the boat keys, her loss has inspired her to learn how to do things on her own and in December 2021, she began her journey to become a USCG Licensed Captain and Florida Coastal Systems Master Naturalist.
